NO.
The issuance of the Police Certificate is assigned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan when you are required to submit it according to foreign authorities laws.
Please call us in advance to check about the procedure.
Depending on the requesting authority or the reason for the request, there will be some cases where applications many not be accepted straight away.
Where do I apply for a police certificate?
A:
The certificates are issued only to those who
(1)Currently have resident registration in Shizuoka Prefecture or
(2)Currently have resident registration overseas but last registered in Shizuoka Prefecture.
You may apply for the certificate only at:

What should I bring?
A.
If you live in Japan;
(1)Your valid passport.
(2)Any document issued by a Japanese public agency that verifies your name and present address in Japan.
(Ex. Driver’s license, JUMINHYO (Resident certificate, issued within the last 6 months and doesn’t carry MY NUMBER.))
(3)Any document indicating the necessity of the police certificate.
If you live outside Japan;
(1)Your valid passport.
(2)Any document which shows your present address.
(3)Any document issued by a Japanese public agency that verifies your name and former address in Japan.
(Ex. “JOHYO of JUMINHYO” (certificate of removal of residence registry) or “FUHYO of KOSEKI” (supplementary family registry) (issued within the last 6 months and doesn’t carry My Number.)
(4)Any document indicating the necessity of the police certificate.
Can someone else apply for the certificate on my behalf?

No. Applications must be made in person.
How can I apply if I am not in Japan?
A.
If you are already overseas, you may apply at the nearest Japanese Embassy or Consulate. If you have any questions, please call the Embassy or Consulate for the application.
How long does it take to get the certificate?
A.
It will be available in about 10 days from the day of your application. Please apply in plenty of time.
Can you send the certificate by mail?
A.
No. you must pick it up in person.
Can someone else receive it on my behalf?
A.
If the applicant cannot come in person for some unavoidable reason, a proxy may receive in your behalf, depending on that reason. Please check beforehand.
When are office hours?
A.
Monday through Friday. 9時00分AM. to 11時30分AM and 1時00分PM to 4時00分PM
(Closed on weekends, national holidays and from December 29th to January 3rd.)
